Until the 20th Century, tattoos of any
kind were socially unacceptable and many women hid their permanent
cosmetics from family and friends. Today skilled technicians can
correct problems associated with hair loss, pigment loss, and scarring.
In these past 10 years, permanent cosmetics have made their way
into the lives of women eager to be rid of the everyday hassles
of applying makeup. Permanent and corrective cosmetics can help
women complete the reconstructive process by restoring pigment to
the areola after breast surgery.
Now the convenience of permanent cosmetics that has been enjoyed
around the world is ours here in the United States. With new legislation
and the training of more technicians, women can safely go to a studio
for permanent cosmetics. There are many manufacturers of pigments
and machines and various organizations now in existence to help
educate the public. The Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals
founded in 1990, and the American Academy of Micropigmentation founded
by Dr. Zwerling in 1992, are two of the leaders in setting standards
of the micropigmentation industry. In 2001 the first magazine, “Cosmetech”
was published solely for the permanent cosmetic technician.
Now women everywhere can "Wakeup with Makeup" and spend
more time doing the things they want to do! |
